I was in my room the other day watching the hunting channel and I caught your show, Higher Ground Outdoors. During this show y'all were proceeding to tell what your show was all about and I couldn't believe what I saw. I saw both of you giving the middle class everyday Joe, who you call the "Backbone of America," their dream hunts; hunts that these heroes would never have the chance to do otherwise. I couldn't help but get teary eyed watching it, especially when it got to the father and the son. It made me think of my father and me, not only because it brought back memories of hunts from the past but because the kind of people that y'all, as television host, chose to bless...
... Wow, what an incredible outfit you have begun! It must be an amazing feeling to help people's dreams come true in such a profound way! Well, I am writing to you because a hunt like the ones you describe are so far out of reach for my husband that I think he has lost his dream of doing it one day ... When I saw this opportunity, I immediately started to cry just thinking about the possibility to give my husband something so incredible and life changing as to reunite him with his hero, his Daddy, for what may be the last time that they would get to hunt together ...
I wanted to write and let you both know how much I enjoy your show!!! The excitement and emotions that come from these hunts are tremendous!! I especially enjoyed the hunt with the young man from Colorado Springs that lost his wife in an ATV accident...
Well first I have to say that my husband watches your show every week (he DVR's it so he doesn't miss it) . What a blessing you guys are...
... First of all, this story is about a small boy. Small in stature, but the large heart of a hero. Henry was thirteen when an unthinkable accident threw his life and the lives of all around him into a chaotic tailspin ... In September of 2006, Henry started walking unaided. He kinda looked like "Grandpa" in your show. You have to hand it to youth. In October, I took Henry, his Dad, three of my grown sons and two more of my Grandsons to my special "Elk Honeyhole". Two of my sons and myself shot bulls. This was Henrys' first elk hunt, and within 3 hours of getting out of the truck walking unaided, he shot his first elk; a beautiful young cow ... There's something so special about the country/community lifestyle which includes the things your show seems to be about ...
